Avoid The Big Mistake . . . Hidden Secrets To Online Success

| Posted in Network Marketing |

Comments

If you are a brand new internet marketer, the biggest mistake you will ever make is trying to do it on your own.

Making money online can be easy, once you understand how all the pieces fit together. However learning how to fit those pieces together, on your own, can cost you thousands of dollars very quickly.

The first decision you need to make is what product you are going to market. Are you going to market your own product, or are you going to market somebody else’s product (affiliate marketing)?

Going to market your own product? Have you created that product? Is it a physical product or an information product (ebook, video, etc.)? If a physical product, what will be your distribution process?

Do you have a marketing system . . . splash page, sales letter, website, thank you page, and a system for collecting payments? Do you have a domain name and a web hosting account?

If you’re going to be an affiliate marketer, does the product owner have a marketing system set up? Is it effective and smooth in its operation? How will you be paid and what is your commission rate? Will you be re-directing to your domain or will you be marketing your affiliate link?

How do you plan to market your product . . . email ads, pay per click, classifieds, articles, press releases, forums, social networking, etc.? Are you able to write interesting articles and press releases? Can you market effectively in forums and social networks?

Have you determined the level of demand for your product? Without demand, the greatest marketing campaign in the world is totally useless. Before you spend any money on product creation, you need to determine the level of demand for your product.

These are very important questions, you need answers before you spend a lot of money.

Your bottom line is simply this . . . you need a mentor who knows what your next move needs to be. Someone who can keep you out of the pitfalls. Someone who will lead you safely through the internet mine field. Someone who knows what you need to do with your money.

If you want to learn how to make pretzels . . . who would you ask? A friend who knows nothing about making pretzels, or a family member who also knows nothing about making pretzels? No . . . you would ask someone who knows how to make pretzels. Someone who can teach you the correct procedure.

The same holds true for internet marketing. If you want to be a successful internet marketer, you need advice from someone who is already a successful internet marketer. Someone who can teach you the correct procedures.

How do you determine a true mentor? Do they have your best interest in mind, or are they just trying to extract money from you? Read through their website, what kind of help and training are they providing? Ask around the internet, read reviews and endorsements.

Where will you find mentors? You’ll find them in online forums and master mind groups. You’ll find them at live online marketing seminars and events. You’ll find them in online coaching programs. If you search, you’ll find hundreds of good mentors and mentoring programs on the internet.

Your first thought might be, you can’t afford a mentor. The truth is . . . you can’t afford not to have a mentor. With a good mentor, you can start making money immediately and avoid the money pits many online marketers fall into. You will never be successful without correct information.

You might be sitting on a list of hundreds or thousands of previous customers if you’ve been selling on eBay for a while. Have you remarketed to these customers at all?

Keeping an existing customer is over 5 times cheaper than trying to obtain a new one. If you already have the customer, don’t throw away the time and money it took to obtain it.

Following up on your previous customers is a great opportunity to increase profits. Create an email database and then keep in regular contact with them. If they were satisfied with your service they won’t mind hearing back from you. Let them know about any specials or offers by emailing them once a week or so.

Here’s the secret: when you send your customers back to your eBay auctions or to your store, use the eBay Publisher Network. What is the eBay Publisher Network? It’s eBay’s affiliate program where eBay will pay you to send people to the eBay website.

Yeah, eBay pays you! There has to be some sort of catch though, right? So far, no catch. You can sign up really quickly, and its pretty easy to make your own affiliate links. Over the past weeks I’ve pulled in $757.21 in pure commissions by sending out a measly 8 emails to my previous clients – and that doesn’t take into consideration the repeat sales I got from sending them back to my items.

All you have to do is get your past customers to click on the affiliate link you put in the email, and then eBay keeps track of their purchases. Anything that they buy on eBay within 7 days of clicking your link, you’ll make money on.
