Go through the first couple pages of site checking the traffic ranks and to see if they have banner ads on the sites already. Contact the sites you are interested in directly and see if they have any advertising available. If not, don’t worry because you can always us a media buying company like BlogAds or BuySellAds.

When you are looking through the sites that came back from your keyword search, be sure to pay close attention to the demographics of the users on those sites. The worst thing you could do is advertise your biz op on a site for Teeny Boppers. A couple of great tools for beginning your demographics research are Quantcast and Alexa. These sites both have demo sections that will get you pretty close to the actual site make up.

Now we have our target market demographics and some great keywords, lets find some banners. I realize banner ads are not as sexy to most as PPC, but your conversions can be the same and cost less with this method of advertising.
