Many were curious about the Sun article that described in great detail an underwater image of what looked like city streets that measured to be the size of Whales.  Could it be the lost city of Atlantis?  Experts and treasure hunters have been looking for this famous city ever since the rumors began about this great town around 350 B.C.  The question I want to ask is simply this, “What does the lost city of Atlantis and your blog have in common?”

An individual named Bernie Bamford was using the latest version of Google Ocean and made an amazing discovery.  The truth is he did not find Atlantis.  But what he found and and how he found it is the fascinating part.  Bernie did not discover Atlantis but what he found was simply sonar artifacts from boating equipment.  But the important question remains?  How did he find it?  He needed Google!

What could have been Atlantis and what might be your blog both need the same thing to be found:  GOOGLE!  At times I’ll be honest Google seems like a love/hate relationship.  I can’t speak for Google but I confess there are times when I love Google and I have moments when I despise them.  The truth is if I want my website to be found I need Google.  Somewhere and somehow someone will be typing in something and an article of mine will appear in the search results.

I do not want traffic from anywhere else.  I am not a fan of traffic exchanges, ppc, or other traffic generating opportunities.  I want the pure stuff, the organic traffic.  I want people to find me because I’m there and I have something they are looking for online.  If I were to sum up the relationship your blog needs with Google in one sentence I’d put it this way:

Google shows love by providing relevant results to their visitors and they reward websites for doing the same.

I have found just by remembering that piece of advice Google will point visitors my way as I help Google.  Even if an article was long and forgotten like the City of Atlantis, it can be found again with Google.
